Landscape

Although this image is slightly blurred, it makes use of the focus on the foreground image (watches) against the rest of the area in order to focus the eye on the subject yet still create a sense of depth and scale. The viewer's eye is led from the first watch, to the second, and into the background in a sort of rotational perspective, which creates an interesting composition.
The horizons within this photograph remain horizontal and the main point of interest (the sun) is kept away from the center and extreme edges, which shows the use of composition within a landscape image. The curved railing at the bottom left of the image also creates variety between straight and curved lines and helps minimize empty space along with the trees placed in front of the buildings.

Composition

This image uses vertical, slanted, parallel, and horizontal lines to convey a sense of movement and direction of the building. These lines are also what make the building appear sturdy and give the road a sense of direction and movement as well as making it appear somewhat "active."

This image uses a zoomed in area of a bigger building in order to emphasize the window shutters and balconies. The image also contains repetition and rhythm with the two balconies however this becomes more interesting since the rhythm is broken by the open shutter, paint bucket, and chair on one of the balconies.

Color

The occaisonal use of bright colors such as orange, blue, yellow, and pink within this image add "life" and drama to the photograph. These colors are "calmed down" or contrasted by the use of darker colors such as white, black, gray, and brown. The shoes that are given brighter colorings lead the viewer's eye through a "pathway" of colored shoes and almost present the image as an Andy Warhol painting with the use of color and repetition.
The use of red within this image gives it a warm feel however, with the use of contrasting colors, the image is far from harmonic and is actually quite lively, dynamic, and dramatic. The viewer is given the sense of an "exciting" atmosphere, similar to that of a children's classroom or festival of some sort, rather than a melancholic or calm atmosphere.

Light

This image experiments with the use of a light source in order to create an interesting piece. Even though the primary light source consists of light in the ceiling, the lamp centered creates interesting shapes and shadows against the furniture, paintings, and other objects and shows brief examples of side lighting in certain areas such as the golden painting frame.

This image is a clear example of the effects of light "temperature" or color. The subject is a neon artificial light that emits shades of blue and pink as opposed to a natural light that would be considered "white" light.

Buildings

This image shows the use of symmetry where two sides of the inside of this building are almost identical. The image also shows the use of parallel lines (the columns and floor levels) that make the building appear to lean backwards. The verticals are also left going straight up in order to keep the sides parallel.
This image is an example of how a wide-angle perspective can be used to show buildings through an interesting perspective without a wide-angle camera lens. The image is created with three individual photographs of the Amman landscape that have been merged together as a panorama that exaggerates the skyline and helps convey its distance. The image also maintains the horizontal line of the horizon as well as the verticals of the buildings.

People with Buildings

The fact that there are two people in this photograph helps emphasize the width of the gazebo (?) and the patch of "vegetation" within. The gazebo itself appears larger and less monotonous as the other white buildings behind it and is given context (we know it is an eating or sitting area of some sort) by the person sitting at the bench. The location is also further emphasized through the use of benches and bright-colored, contrasting trashcans.

By having a person at the end of this pathway, the viewer is given a sense of the scale of its vastness length, width, and height-wise. Since the person is far away from the camera and appears small, the picture is also given a "sense of depth." The fact that the person is a student also helps emphasize and "give context" to the location of this pathway (in a school) along with the desks at the end that "provide information" on the location.
